Expertise

Mathangi Rajaram‑Gilkes’s research integrates basic sciences with clinical correlation, reflecting her dual role as a physician and medical educator. Her work includes cadaveric dissection–based research and exploratory studies in collaboration with Geisinger clinicians, as well as the use of the Sectra Virtual Human Simulator to study anatomy through multidimensional imaging, radiology, virtual histopathology, and clinically oriented case material. She actively promotes student involvement in scholarship by identifying anatomical variations, surgical and pathological findings in cadaveric specimens, and by exploring histologic features of underreported regions of the human body. Her research is highly collaborative, involving Geisinger clinicians across multiple specialties and educators and clinicians affiliated with the American Association of Clinical Anatomists.
