Stephanie Kraft is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioethics and Decision Sciences. Her work aims to promote respectful and trustworthy clinical research and to ensure scientific advances benefit people in real-world settings. A major focus of Professor Kraft’s research is on improving how medical and research professionals engage with patients, participants and community members. This work includes developing and implementing informed consent processes to better support people in making research enrollment decisions that align with their values, as well as examining experiences with risk and communication in clinically integrated research. Professor Kraft’s research has been funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute, the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
