Adam Buchanan is Professor and Chair of the Geisinger Department of Genomic Health and a board‑certified, licensed genetic counselor with over 20 years of research experience. Her work focuses on evaluating genetic counseling outcomes and cancer and cardiovascular risk management behaviors. She has extensive clinical expertise in genetic counseling and genomic screening for individuals at increased risk of hereditary cancer and inherited cardiovascular disease.
Trained as a behavioral scientist, she holds a master’s degree and has completed mentored training in implementation science at the National Cancer Institute. Her research interests include the implementation and outcomes of population‑based genomic screening, models of genetic services delivery, risk management among individuals at elevated risk for cancer and heart disease, and the evaluation of emerging multi‑cancer detection testing.
